Abstract: Inclusion of excluded is the basic philosophy of inclusive education. It is a new experiment in the educational field. The exposure these children get in the mainstream will reflect on their personality development. The present work intends to explore the attitudes of government teachers and female teacher trainees towards inclusive education. A self prepared questionnaire was administered to the government teaches and female teacher trainees. The result of the study shows that though teacher trainees have a favourable attitude towards inclusive education, the government teachers have only moderate attitude. This is due to the fact that there is unavailability of required resources, lack of their confidence about their own knowledge and competencies in the use of assistive technology. The reason could be that they did not have sufficient training to deal with these educational activities and schools are lacking the required resources. Teachers do not feel they are prepared or competent to teach regular learners and learners with special educational needs. The study revealed significant difference between the teachers of government school and teacher trainees regarding the knowledge of main concept of inclusive education.
